Well Suited Masculine Birthday Card

The Handsomely Suited Stamp Set and Suit & Tie Dies were an impulse buy to boost my stash of ‘male’ themed products. When the catalog is largely flowers and girly stuff, it’s wise to get these additions while they are available. The Well Suited Suite is the masculine offering in the Jan-June Mini Catalog. If you wait until closer to Father’s Day towards the end of June, you’ll almost certainly find less choice.

Today I’m sharing a card I’m making for my father for his birthday next month. I’m including the instructions so you can make one too!

Stamp Sets: Handsomely Suited** (154444)

Ink: Pacific Point Pad (147098)

Paper: Basic White CS (159276); Well Suited Designer Series Paper (154562)

Accessories: Suit & Tie Dies** (154322); Take Your Pick Tool (144107) Rhinestone Basic Jewels (144220) Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine (149653) Label Me Fancy Punch (151297) Stampin’ Dimensionals (104430) Stampin’ Seal (152813) Stampin’ Trimmer (152392) Bone Folder (102300)

** Bundle and save 10% – Handsomely Suited Bundle (156240)

Instructions:

1. Cut a 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” piece of Basic White Cardstock. Score at 4-1/4”. Fold in half to form card base. Burnish crease using a Bone Folder.

2. Cut a 4 1/4” x 5 ½” piece of Well Suited Designer Series Paper. Adhere to card base.

3. From scraps of Basic White Cardstock, die cut the triangle image and the collar image.

4. From scraps of Well Suited Designer Series Paper, die cut out these images: lapels, tie, tie knot, pocket (top only), and one of the two collar pieces.

5. On a scrap of Basic White cardstock, stamp the greeting in Pacific Point ink. Punch out with the Label Me Fancy Punch.

6. Attach the die cut white triangle to the top center of the card flat.

7. Attach the knot to the tie with a Stampin’ Dimensional. Attach the white collar with Stampin’ Dimensionals and then tuck the tie under it and attach flat. Tip: the bottom of the tie is too long, but you can cover it with the greeting (and snip off any excess).

8. Attach the lapels with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Add the greeting at the bottom with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

9. Use the Take Your Pick Tool to add a Rhinestone Basic Jewel.

10. Cut off a portion of the designer paper collar you die cut and attach it to the back of the pocket you die cut. Now attach both to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
