Prized Peony Pocket Card

Today’s card features the Stampin’ Up! Prized Peony Bundle in a super simple pocket card.

This bundle has Peony die cuts which I used to create the beautiful embellishment which stands out front and center atop the gorgeous Peony Garden Designer Series Paper.

The card base is Petal Pink Cardstock, cut at 5-1/2 x 8-1/2, and scored at 2″ and 6″.  After scoring the card base, I used Stampin’ Up! Tear and Tape Adhesive to the edges to create a pocket.  Then then added the front two panels of Peony Garden Designer Series Paper, cut at 5-1/4 x 1-3/4 and 5-1/4 x 2-1/4.

I then stamped the sentiment in Basic Gray ink from the Prized Peony Stamp Set on a scrap of Whisper White Cardstock and cut it out with the Tasteful Label Dies.  I added the sentiment with a Stampin’ Dimensional.

I created a card to slip inside out of Whisper White Cardstock, cut at: 4-1/2 x 3-1/2, and stamped several images in Basic Gray ink from the Prized Peony Stamp Set.

Creating the peony flower embellishment was fun and easy! I used the Peony Dies from the bundle. This set has four die cuts that when cut line up perfect to create this beautiful flower.  I added Mini Glue Dots to keep them lined up but allow some wiggle room to curl the petals up to provide dimension.  I used Whisper White Cardstock to cut each piece and sponged the edges with Petal Pink ink.  Basic Black Cardstock was used to cut the stamina, and Old Olive Cardstock for the leaves. For the finishing touch, I spritz the flower with a mixture of water and Frost White Shimmer Paint. Pictures don’t do these cards justice ~ they’re really pretty!

I love how these cards turned out, and I can’t believe how easy they were to make!
